Doll Culture Exhibition Roppongi

The Doll Culture Exhibition features the different dolls like Licca-chan, Jenny, Barbie, Blythe, and Super Dollfie.  This event took place on September 13 to October 19, 2014 (sorry it has ended already).  The location was at Roppongi Hills Tokyo City view.

When we visited Roppongi Tokyo City View, we didn’t realize that there was a Doll Culture Exhibition.  The admission to get in was 1500 Yen ($15.00), this ticket included the Tokyo City View, Mori Art Museum and Doll Culture Exhibition (really great deal).  So, it was pretty much a pleasant surprise for me since I really love cute dolls like Blythe, Super Dollfie and Licca-chan.

The Exhibition was right next to the Tokyo City View on the 52nd Floor.  I think the main theme of the exhibit was ‘Kawaii’.  When we got in, the first thing I noticed was the huge colorful pyramid blocks with the different dolls.  The surrounding walls have special displays for the dolls in a ‘Kawaii’ backgrounds, I think these were designed by Sebastian Matsuda of 6%DokiDoki.

Here are some photos from the exhibit:

Also, there was a shop near the exhibit exit that sold exclusive dolls as well as Licca-chan dolls with different outfits.  I actually ended up buying a Licca-chan doll since I never had this type of doll before.  It was around $35 USD for a doll, outfit and some accessories.
